Inspired by Gaspar Noé’s Enter The Void, James i.V set about delivering one of the year’s (albeit early) finest tracks. Under the moniker James i.V, formerly Network and James IV Stewart, this talented Sydney-based artist has been steadily building a high-calibre collection of work. Twin Caverns


From Sydney, Twin Caverns is a new project consisting of Louise Millar and Michael Macias. For the duo’s first release they’ve delivered a gorgeous rework of Bon Iver’s ‘Hinnom, TX‘. Establishing a wonderful balance of crisp production and delicate vocals, the Sydney duo have created something truly special. I’m really excited to hear more from Twin Caverns. Tahana is the solo work of Tom Marland, who is also a member of Sydney-based electronic trio The Nights. His most recent offering under the Tahana moniker, ‘Peculiar‘, is an alluring piece of downtempo electronica. The Sydney-based duo formerly known as Albatross returned last month with a new name and a new release. Under the new name Alba, the talented duo released ‘Knokke / Law‘ through brand new record label Plastic World. ‘Knokke‘ is a slick, vibe-laden house track with its smooth bass sounds, crisp percussive kicks, and haunting vocal coos. ‘Knokke / Law‘ is out now via Plastic World. Moon Holiday


Pull It Closer‘ is the stunning result of the collaborative efforts of Sydney’s Moon Holiday and Reykjavík based trio Samaris. The collaboration was recorded in Reykjavík last year while Moon Holiday was performing at the Icelandic Airwaves Festival. ‘Pull It Closer‘ is a captivating piece of smooth electronica with its emotive vocal work and lush, atmospheric electronics. I Never Get A Morning Anymore


The music project that delivers “music that makes you feel” once again fulfills that ethos with its latest electronic opus. The always impressive Sydney-based artist Embassy (a.k.a Edward Lyons) just unveiled his excellent rework of Friendships’ track ‘I Never Get A Morning Anymore‘. Ed creates a soothing, celestial atmosphere with the slick use of some delicate piano sounds and gorgeous, angelic vocal work. The track is available through bandcamp.

Following on from his excellent split release with Guerre last year, Sydney’s Nakagin is back with another soothing gem in ‘Orca’. Nakagin is the work of talented electronic musician Hugh Luscombe. His latest offering is full of lush electronic textures and delicate percussive sounds that create a beautiful floaty vibe. ‘Orca’ is available via bandcamp for name-your-own-price.

Midnight Express


Formerly operating under the moniker Network, Sydney resident Angus Mills returns with two stellar new tracks as James IV Stewart. The most recent of which, ‘Midnight Express’, is the title track from his forthcoming debut EP. The Midnight Express EP is out soon via the excellent label The Finer Things. ‘Midnight Express’ is a bouncy, vibe-laden electronic journey from the outset and throughout, with some slick percussion, rolling synths, and crisp vocal samples. Minimal Glow


Sydney residing musician Embässy (Edward Lyons) was kind enough to recently send on some new tracks. The talented musician has been building an impressive array of tracks over the last twelve months or so. He has proven himself to be quite deft when it comes to blending minimal beats, smooth percussion, and moving vocal samples. It may have been a while, but the follow-up to Marco Vella’s debut track was worth the wait. With ‘Runner’, the Sydney-based musician brilliantly utilises dreamy synth work to create an overall ethereal atmosphere. ‘Runner’ is taken from Marco’s forthcoming EP which is currently being finalised.
