From Russia with love comes the stellar debut album from blog favourite, Ishome. The nine-track release perfectly showcases her excellent brand of forward-thinking electronica. With a few familiar classics blended with some new treats, ‘Confession‘ is an absolute corker of a release. The album is out now via Fuselab. Stream the mightily impressive, ‘Adam‘, below. Ishome (aka Mirabella Karianova) is the future.
On Some Faraway Beach is a wonderfully named project from Spain, for which there is little or no information available for public consumption. What we do know is that OSFB has three tracks to date, which were released as an EP a week or so ago. The standout, ‘At Dusk‘, is glistening with soothing waves of warm synth sounds and rhythmic percussion. The The Way I Feel (About You) EP is free to download here. Get lost in the Iberian warmth below.
Here’s something to ease you into the weekend from American artist, terminoir. He’s just released a new five-track EP titled Malady, which he describes as “a small collection of songs chronicling past maladies“. The standout, ‘Macha‘, is a six-plus minute opus of soothing electronica with some gorgeous piano sounds and emotive vocal work. The EP is available through bandcamp. Keep up to date with terminoir via the cloud.
Thoughts of summer continue to swirl as we edge closer to those warmer times. Switzerland’s CRISTALLIN is back with another treat to fuel our good-vibed summer musings. ‘Terranea‘ is said treat and free to download. The official video is an apt representation of the track’s overall emotion. The video is by CRISTALLIN himself. Be sure to follow his filmography here and music here.
Aside from speculating that Kirtur is the work of Melbourne resident Tom Dickeson, there’s not a whole lot of information available about the project. However, that’s beside the point, I recently came across Kirtur‘s work and his most recent track really impressed. ‘Stay‘ is a soothing five-minute cruise into the realms of minimal electronic tones and ambient-based treats. Hopefully this is the first of many new tracks, follow Kirtur on the cloud. Free download of ‘Stay‘ here.
Oathlessis the work of twenty-one year old producer Simon Housley. The Stoke-on-Trent, UK residing producer has an impressive collection of delicate, ambient-based electronic pieces. Oathless’ latest EP is the staggeringly beautiful four-track release Inhale / Exhale. Easily one of my favourite releases this year, it is available for a small donation here or for free here. Get your journey started with superbly crafted ‘Inhale‘ below.
It’s always great to get submissions from homegrown talent, and it’s even better when said talent’s music is perfect for the aesthetic of your particular blog. This definitely applies to Sombre, the work of Galway, Ireland resident John Callagy. His most recent offering is the chilled-out, airy chimed ‘Good Tidings’. The track opens with some trickling water samples before the gushing of rolling synths, smooth percussive sounds, and ethereal vocal coos find their place. Be sure to follow Sombre on the cloud.
In the year since we last checked in with twenty-two year old Russian superstar, Ishome (aka Mirabella Karianova) she has been hard at work on her debut album, Confession. The album is set for release next month via Fuselab. Yesterday, Ishome put together this slick live performance previewing some of the tracks from the forthcoming album. The twenty-two year old producer has been steadily building an impressive array of experimental electronic tracks over the last few years or so. ‘Eva’ is one such track, with its minimal dance elements, rolling drum patterns, and delicate vocal samples. A true gem, free download here.
Late last night I landed on the work of Southampton’s Foundrel (aka Michael McMenemy). His most recent masterpiece is the slow-motion, vibe-laden electronic opus ‘Void’. The track kicks off with some rolling synth sounds before being met with gorgeous vocal samples and tasty percussive treats. ‘Void’ can be found alongside a number of other high calibre tracks from Foundrel on soundcloud. Hopefully we’ll be hearing a lot more from this talented musician soon.
Here’s a little something to ease you into your Sunday afternoon from Bath, England-based musician AUXX (Louis Sterling). With a soundcloud page comprising a number of impressive experimental electronic tracks, it’s his most recent offering, ‘Love’s Evil’ that’s really grabbed my attention. With some nicely placed vocal samples and slick percussive sounds, the result is a beautifully soothing, airy vibe. ‘Love’s Evil’ is free to download here.
